Many people are unaware of how useful a pool vacuum cleaner is and tend to weaken the health risks associated with an unclean pool.
Research and studies show that even seemingly clean swimming pools have lots of harmful bacteria that can cause serious health risks. Surprisingly, a lot of times, the water from our garden hose is much cleaner than that found in a regular swimming pool. Therefore, if you have a swimming pool, it needs weekly maintenance and cleaning. All the reasons why you need the best above the ground pools vacuum.
Today, let me show you a few easy tips to use a pool vacuum. Starting with…
Put Your Pool Filter to Work
If you can’t get your kids to use the pool vacuum, you can at least make use of your pool filter to make the task a little easier. If you’re performing routine maintenance and giving your pool a weekly cleaning, you may not need to adjust your pool’s filter setting at all. The standard “Filter” setting will do the job quite nicely.
Multiport Filters
These may offer several options, with special settings just for vacuuming, including one called “Waste.” This setting pumps water out of the pool while bypassing the filter. This setting keeps you from clogging your filter with debris, flocculant, and annoyingly persistent algae.
Two-Position Valve Filters
Often called “push-pull” valve filters, these are more common on smaller pools. They won’t have a “Waste” option. Instead, with this system’s only setting—” Filter”—all the water you vacuum will be pulled into—and cleaned by—your pool’s filter. The cleaned water is then sent back into your pool.
Pressure side cleaners
Pressure side vacuum cleaners are independent of the pool’s circulation system. However, they do make use of the pumps of the pool to accelerate their own movement along the surface of the pool. They have wheels for the easy movement of the cleaner. The pressure from the water propels these cleaners.
This along with their own in-built hydraulic power plants help them in the cleaning process. The pumps of pressure side vacuum cleaners are available in two categories, ones with a booster pump and the ones without. The vacuum cleaners with the booster pumps work on a stream of high pressure and an automatic clock that turns the cleaner off.
